Husband & wife team Matt and Kay Hamilton-Crook launched The Barn at Alswick in 2017 with the wish to provide a really personal approach to hosting weddings.

“So many venues become a conveyor-belt of events, where weddings become less personal, less distinctive somehow. We saw an opportunity to offer something different, a far more individual experience, where we don’t have to abide a set format and strict rules”

The Barn at Alswick hold a limited number of weddings each year, enabling them to offer a truly exclusive experience for all their couples, who can enjoy being fully centre stage.

We love getting to know the couples we work with, understanding their personalities and bringing their visions to fruition. We feel very honoured to be part of their ‘best day ever!’”

In keeping with offering an exceptional experience, The Barn also has access to the huge stunning private gardens of Alswick Hall, with endless hidden gems it gives couples the opportunity to make their wedding photography unique and special to their day.

The Barn prides itself on offering a simple pricing structure to allow couples to maintain control over the   all-important wedding budget. With only two mandatory elements required from the Barn (venue hire and drinks packages) everything else is the couple’s choice.

With a small dedicated team of Event Planners, The Barn at Alswick walk their couples through the planning process and ensuring their day runs seamlessly allowing them to simply focus on enjoying their day.

The bright and spacious barn offers a peaceful countryside location for your occasion. Accommodating numbers from 50 to 220 (dependent on layout) it is theperfect space to arrange anything from a celebratory lunch, to a charity ball.

Bespoke breakfast, lunch and dinner menus can be designed with our caterers to suit your needs and ensure the perfect fit for your event and budget.

Accommodating both smaller groups of up to 14 in our more intimate meeting spaces, and larger numbers of up to 220, The Barn at Alswick offers a variety of bright and contemporary, yet characterful rooms to host your corporate and social events in a peaceful rural location. The space is set up with state of the art audio visual equipment and programmable lighting, and has an experienced Team Activity Company based onsite, who can provide an extensive range of entertainment and activity options both indoors and outdoors, should you wish to enhance your event further.

Our more intimate meeting spaces can be hired independently or together by the day (Half days can be booked on the day subject to availability).

The Boardroom can seat 14 people and includes a state of the art 55” screen with HDMI connection. Meetings can be booked in this space at a rate of £35.00 + VAT per person for the day for a minimum of 4 people.

The Dressing Room seats up to 8 people and includes a 42” screen with HDMI connection. Meetings can be booked here at a rate of £27.50 + VAT per person per day, with a minimum of 3 people.

Flexible furniture arrangements in these rooms can offer further options for use, please discuss your requirements with us.

The Snug is the perfect place for a quiet cup of coffee during the day, or a well-deserved glass of wine after a meeting.

Thank you so much for making our day so special. We got married on 4th August and could not have been happier with the Barn at Alswick. The whole venue is absolutely stunning - the barn itself is beautiful, the courtyard was perfect for a sunny day, the Snug bar is lovely for people who want some quieter time and the upstairs room for the bridal party is an amazing bonus! We couldn't have wished for a better venue or team supporting our wedding. Kay, Judy and the team were brilliant from our first visit to the barn, all of our planning meetings and on the day itself. They were always so friendly, professional and eager to help us create our vision for the day and everything felt very personal. All of our guests were so relaxed and commented on how much they loved the venue. Thank you again - it meant so much to be able to get married in such a perfect venue so close to our home.


We had our wonderful wedding at The Barn at Alswick on 14th July 18 and it was everything we hoped for. We chose the venue and booked our wedding before the venue was even finished back in 2016, because we could immediately see the potential. The barn was beautiful and a perfect canvas to create the look we wanted for our day, and would seat our 100+ guests. We also wanted to get married outdoors, so the courtyard was the perfect place and a great area for drinks and canapés provided by their recommended caterers - Saffron Caterers who did a fantastic job, creating us a bespoke menu that suited our tastes. The gardens were absolutely beautiful for our pictures and created the perfect backdrop to our wonderful hot and sunny day. The staff at the barn were amazing at listening to exactly what we wanted and giving suggestions that would help run our day without a hitch. Big Thanks to Kay and Judy for all of their help in making our day the best day of our lives!
